Plus and your subscription
What's free
Everything that runs your kitchen is free, with no limit on items and no ads: the pantry, the daily Check-in, dinner picks with Reload, the week plan, shopping lists, recipes and link import, each person's food & diet, inviting people, and every way to share a recipe.
Free kitchens also get 3 scans a month. Receipt and shelf scans count together. Without scans the app still works: add food by hand, and Put Away fills the pantry from what you checked off.
What Plus adds
Plus gives your kitchen Receipt Scans (see what Receipt Scan does) and Shelf Scans with no monthly limit, up to 10 scans a day. New AI features will come to Plus later.
One Plus covers the whole kitchen. Everyone in it gets the scans, not just the person who pays.
The daily limit
Every kitchen, with Plus or without, can do up to 10 scans a day, receipts and shelves together. The count starts again at midnight in your kitchen's time zone.
Past that, the list and Put Away show Receipt scans are paused for today. Tap it to read "Hey you've scanned a lot today. Try again tomorrow.", then tap Keep going. You can still put things away by hand.
When your free scans are used
New kitchens start with Plus for a while, so you can scan while you set up and on your first big shop. See Pricing for how long. After that the kitchen has 3 free scans a month, unless someone in it gets Plus.
The app never asks you to get Plus during setup. When you try a scan after your free ones are used, it offers Plus, and Not now lets you carry on without it.
A month of Plus for sharing
When a new kitchen joins through your invite or a recipe link you shared, and finishes its first Check-in, both kitchens get a month of Plus. A kitchen can earn up to 12 months this way.
Getting and stopping Plus
Plus is bought in the app, through the App Store on iPhone and iPad or Google Play on Android. See Pricing for what it costs.
To stop it, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Your kitchen keeps Plus to the end of the time already paid for, then goes back to 3 free scans a month. Nothing else changes: your pantry, lists, recipes and plan stay.
