Terms of use (draft)
- Status: draft. These terms stay a draft until the lawyer review before public launch.
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Mosier Information Services, Inc. ("we"), which runs Pantry Assistant (the "app"). By making an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. The app is being tested
The app is in an early test with a small group of kitchens. Features will change, some described in our materials are planned and not built yet, and things may break. Please tell us when they do: support@mosierdata.com.
3. Your account
- You must be 13 or older to have an account. Children under 13 can be added to a kitchen by a parent as a member with no login.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time. Once the in-app button is built it takes effect at once; until then it takes effect when we act on your email request. There is no undo.
4. Kitchens and sharing
- A kitchen is shared. Everyone in it sees its lists, pantry, recipes and dinner plan, and can change them as their role allows. The one exception is a Private List, which only the person who made it can see.
- An owner can remove any member, other owners included, at once.
- Only add people to your kitchen whom you mean to share it with.
5. Free during the test
The app is free to use during the test. We may add paid features later. If we do, we'll update these terms and tell you before the change takes effect, and you'll choose whether to sign up.
AI-assisted features are planned only as part of a later paid plan. The free app has no AI features.
6. Allergies and food
The app is a planning helper. It is not medical advice, and it can't promise what is in your food.
The app leaves out dinners with your allergies, using the ingredients it knows about. It can miss things. Always check labels.
- The app checks recipes against the allergies people have shared, using the food details it has. Product recipes change, labels differ, and the app can't see an ingredient it doesn't know about.
- You decide what you and the people you cook for eat. Always read labels and follow advice from your doctor.
- AI-written recipes (planned, paid plan only) are always labelled as AI-written. Check them before you cook.
- Expiry dates the app estimates are marked "about" and are a guess. Use your own judgment.
[LAWYER] Disclaimer of warranties: the app is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows.
7. Limit of liability
[LAWYER] To be written by the lawyer. These terms will limit our liability, covering at least the allergy filter, recipe content (including Starter Recipes and AI-written recipes) and estimated expiry dates.
8. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Break the law, or use the app to harm anyone.
- Try to get into another person's account or kitchen, or data you're not allowed to see.
- Probe, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer our server, or get around its limits.
- Upload anything that isn't yours to share, or that contains other people's personal details. Keep people and papers out of photos (planned photo features).
- Hide instructions in recipes or other text meant to steer a connected AI app.
- Resell or rebrand the app.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.
9. Your content
- Recipes, lists, photos and notes you add are yours. You give us permission to store, copy and show them so the app can run for you and your kitchen.
- When you leave a kitchen, shared things you made stay with that kitchen, labelled "Former member".
- If you import a recipe from a website (planned), it's for your own kitchen's use. Respect the site's rights.
- Starter Recipes come from named sources, shown on each recipe, and keep that credit.
10. Connected AI apps (planned)
You can choose to connect an outside AI app, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to your account. That app follows its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. It never reads your allergies, foods you can't eat or diets. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
11. Privacy
How we handle your data is in our privacy policy at /privacy.
12. Changes to the app and these terms
We may change or stop parts of the app. We'll update these terms when needed and change the date at the top. For a change that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
13. Ending
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms if you break them, or if we shut the app down. If we shut it down, we'll give notice so you can download your data first (planned download).
14. The legal parts
[LAWYER] Governing law and where disputes are heard: Florida, with disputes heard in Polk County, Florida.
[LAWYER] Dispute process, severability, and the whole agreement.
