How long does ginger last in the fridge, freezer and pantry

FoodKeeper lists ginger root as keeping for 2 to 5 days in the pantry (from purchase), 2 to 3 weeks in the fridge (from purchase) and 6 months in the freezer (from purchase). These are estimates for food stored as described. We have not yet confirmed whether USDA has published newer FoodKeeper data since this release.
