Move it to the freezer by Saturday, 2 weeks on

Say you bring home carrots on a Saturday. For carrots, parsnips, FoodKeeper lists 2 to 3 weeks in the fridge (from purchase), so move them to the freezer by Saturday, 2 weeks on, the early end of that range. They keep for 10 to 12 months there (from purchase). The Pantry shows how long each food has, and a Use first card offers Freeze (Pantry dates in Help).

Check it first. When in doubt, throw it out. Check the label and the date.
