Sharing a recipe
Last checked
Open a recipe and tap Share on its photo (on iPad, in the bar at the top). Anyone in the kitchen can share, Viewers included. Starter Recipes can't be shared until you save them as your own.
Three ways to share
- Share link makes a page anyone with the link can open, no app needed. Send it by text, email or anywhere else.
- Share Image makes a tall picture of the recipe to save or post.
- Print Card makes a recipe card to print: 4×6, or a full page if it's long.
On iPhone and iPad these open the share sheet. On Android, the picture and the card open in your browser to save. On the web, they download.
What the other person sees
The recipe page shows the photo, the name, how many it serves and how long it takes, the ingredients and the steps, and who shared it. There's no sign-in and no ads. When you paste the link into a message, it shows the recipe's name and photo.
Save to My Kitchen
Someone who has the app taps Save to My Kitchen on the page. On iPhone, that only works when they open the link from Messages, Notes or another app; in a browser the page says so. The app opens on a save screen. If they're signed out, they sign in first. If they're in more than one kitchen, they pick which one. Then they tap Save to My Kitchen again, or Not now. The copy shows who shared it and where it came from. Owners and Editors can save recipes.
Stop sharing
Tap Share on the recipe again and turn off Shared. The link stops working at once. Copies people already saved stay theirs.
